I took a long way around to this work
I am a REALTOR® and licensed North Carolina broker with The Coley Group at Compass, serving Wake Forest, Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina and the greater Triangle.
I grew up in West Allis, Wisconsin, and came to North Carolina in 1982 for my senior year of high school, graduating from Northern Nash in Rocky Mount. I served this country for four years in the U.S. Navy.
From there I went to Scottsdale for professional umpire school and spent five years calling professional baseball. That job teaches you to stay composed when fans, players, and managers all disagree with the call, and to make it anyway. I have never once regretted having that in my back pocket at a negotiating table.
Stay composed. Make the call. Next pitch.
After baseball I started a synthetic turf company, which brought me to California in 1999. Owning a business is its own education. Payroll, crews, warranties, and the simple fact that your reputation is only as good as the last job you finished. It taught me to sweat the details nobody sees and to do what I said I would do.
My love of real estate grew out of my own development deals: buying properties, renovating them, and bringing them back to market. That is what pulled me in, and in 2015 I went into real estate full time.
In June 2024 I moved back to North Carolina, this time to Wake Forest, to be closer to family. That is part of why relocation clients find me. I am licensed in both North Carolina and California, and I have packed up a life and started over in a new state more than once. When a family calls me from out west, I am not guessing at what is ahead of them.
How I work
I represent buyers and sellers both, from first-time purchases to luxury and investment properties. Clients tend to describe me as detail-oriented, straightforward, and easy to reach.
My faith guides how I work and how I treat people. I am the proud father of a daughter who starts college this fall.
Whether you are buying, selling, or relocating to the Triangle, I would be glad to help.
